Pre-Employment Transition Services Summer Program
Students in our Pre-ETS program participated in a 5-week Pre-Employment Program focused on developing essential job search skills, career exploration, and workplace preparation. Throughout this process, students participated in meaningful internship opportunities and worked collaboratively in a team setting.
Starting at the YMCA in Stoughton, MA, students worked diligently to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. They thoroughly sanitized exercise equipment, provided grounds keeping by picking up litter on the premises, stocked shelves and fridges in the Y Market with fresh food, and provided friendly customer service to patrons.
Next, the group joined Catholic Charities South in Brockton, MA, an organization that serves more than 120,000 community members each year. Students assembled food bags for individuals and families in need, unloaded boxes from pallets, organized products, and helped deliver heavy bags to cars. Each student arrived with positive energy, ready to make an impactful difference in the community.
Lastly, students supported the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s thrift store in Stoughton, MA, by organizing merchandise on the sales floor, removing clearance merchandise, and identifying red-tagged items for special handling. They worked closely with staff to keep the sales floor neat and inviting for customers.
Across each unique internship experience, the students strengthened their communication and collaboration skills all while making a positive impact in their community. This 5-week initiative is a useful tool in prepping for future work experience and learning how to effectively work as a team. Each participant ended the summer with a complete resume and certificate.
Congratulations, students!
