Tempus Unlimited Fiscal Intermediary

As a Fiscal Intermediary (FI), Tempus Unlimited, Inc. performs employer-required tasks and related administrative tasks for individuals (“consumers”) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Personal Care Attendant (PCA) programs.  We have the sole contract for FI services with the Executive Office of Health & Human Services – Office of Medicaid (MassHealth PCA FI Program).

We also have contracts for FI services with the Senior Care Option (SCO) and One Care Programs. The SCO and One Care is a partnership between MassHealth and Medicare that provides a complete package of health care and social services, including PCA services.

The Tempus Unlimited FI works closely with Personal Care Management (PCM) partners and Aging Services Access Points (ASAP) to perform the employer-related tasks:

There are four different programs that Tempus Unlimited works with as a Fiscal Intermediary. Please click on the links below for more information about each of these.

IMPORTANT:

Starting 1/13/22, MassHealth PCAs and consumers will receive a text message and email confirming that Tempus FI has received their timesheet within two business days after receipt. PCAs and consumers will receive another text and email once Tempus has processed their timesheet, the morning after it is processed.   PCAs and consumers should update their phone number and email address to ensure they receive these messages by visiting: https://tempusunlimited.org/pca-form-contact/

The Tempus call center is experiencing very long call wait times. Please do not call Tempus to confirm that your timesheet was received. You will receive a confirmation text/email within two business days of submitting. If there is an issue with your timesheet, Tempus will contact the Consumer directly.  At this time, please do not call Tempus about FI transition paperwork.

Consumers are strongly encouraged to use e-timesheet.  E-timesheet is faster and easier than fax, and has less potential for errors.  E-timesheet users also get immediate confirmation that their timesheets were received.  To learn more about signing up for e-timesheet, please visit tempusunlimited.org/fi-transition-e-timesheet-migration.
